Black Tea - Varieties of Black Tea

All tea leaves are green when harvested. Black tea has been oxidized and then exposed to high temperatures in an oven or over a fire to turn it black. After firing the tea is sorted according to size. The size of the leaf or particle determines the grade of the tea.

Black tea is generally stronger in flavor and contains more caffeine than white or green teas.
